Catherine Kearney Nolan died the way she lived, surrounded by loved ones, laughter and music at the Hospice House in Vero Beach on July 8, 2008. Born to Patrick J. and Catherine (Shipp) Kearney on January 7, 1929 in New York City, New York. She graduated from The Mary Louis Academy in New York and later from Indian River Community College in Vero Beach where she earned her associates degree in Fashion Merchandising. A resident of Vero Beach since 1977, Catherine was predeceased by her husband and love of her life Thomas J. Nolan, her parents and her sister Maryanne Kearney Sirko.
Survived by her children Denise (John) Ventura, Patrick (Diane) Dickson, Michael (Lynne) Dickson, Lisa (Richard) Kottwitz, Suzanne (George) Vorrath, and Kim (Patrick) Sheehan as well as 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Patrick J. Kearney Sr., sister Joan Margaret Kearney, a nephew and a niece.
A Celebration of her life will be held at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home today, Thursday, July 10th from 2-4 pm and 6-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 11th at Saint Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice House Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
