Charles Bayes' Obituary
Charles Buddy Bayes Jr., 65, of Vero Beach died Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
Mr. Bayes was born August 7, 1946 in Riverside, CA. He had been a resident of Vero Beach for 10 years, coming from Fort Myers.
He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. While in Vietnam his PBR river patrol boat was destroyed by enemy fire and he received permanent service related injuries. He received the Purple Heart for his sacrifice.
He was a member of Assembly of God church.
Survivors include his son, Charles A. Bayes of Vero Beach; sisters Susan Heck of Bonita Springs, FL, Rebecca McCaffey of Springfield, MO and Cindy Combs of Antioch, CA; brothers John Bayes of Springfield, MO and David Bayes of St. Petersburg, FL.
Private family services will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Victory Center at 6200 20th Street Suite 160, Vero Beach, FL 32966.
