Charles E. Swanson "Charlie Brown" 75, of Vero Beach passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the VNA Hospice House.

Mr. Swanson was born September 16, 1937 in Chicago, IL. He had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1996, coming from Loveland, CO.

He served in the United States Marine Corps. He graduated from the University of Illinois and received his Masters degree from Loyola University.

Prior to his retirement he worked for the IBM Corporation before opening his own insurance and real estate business. He also worked as a drug and alcohol counselor.

He enjoyed snow skiing, fishing and boating.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Carol Swanson; son, Tony Swanson; daughter, Cathy Lorenz; two grandchildren, Valerie Mares and Sterling Swanson; one great grandchild; sister, Sandra Nolin and brother, Dr. Gerald Swanson.

Services: A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach.
