Charles "Chuck" David Ellis, 65, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

He was born the youngest son of three children to Joan and Charles Ellis on November 8th, 1957 in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Chuck spent a lifetime exploring the land, sea, and air. He worked as a test pilot at Piper Aircraft in Vero Beach for over twenty years and loved to say that he has "flown a million miles and never went anywhere." Which certainly wasn't true; his exploring spirit brought him all over, even hiking a portion of the Appalachian trail with his dad and brother, riding his motorcycle with his daughter all over the state of Florida, and often driving to New Orleans to spend time with his sister. He was also an avid outdoorsman, and the best camp chef in the history of the world, according to his daughter. He repaired any broken thing you could hand him, and worked alongside his friends, brother, and father tinkering on any project that sat still long enough.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Charles "Darrell" Ellis and nephews Jason Michael Vann and Zachary Ellis Vann.

He is survived by his daughter, Darrell Ellis, his siblings Carol Ellis and Steve Ellis, and his mother Joan Ellis.

Services will be held on Wednesday July 26th, 2023 at 4:00pm at First Christian Church of Vero Beach, 1927 27th Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
