Charles Darrell Ellis, 82, of Vero Beach, FL died Thursday, November 10, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Ellis was born October 11, 1929 in Swandale, West Virginia. He has been a resident of Vero Beach for over 40 years, coming from Belpre, Ohio.

Prior to retirement he was the owner of Suntronics Inc. of Vero Beach.

He was a member of the Aero Club of Vero Beach and the Masonic Lodge of Belpre, Ohio

Survivors include his wife of 62 years Joan, daughter Carol E. Vann of Memphis TN; sons Steven D. Ellis of Dallas, Texas and Chuck D. Ellis of Vero Beach, Florida; brothers Carl Ellis of Parkerburg, WV and Robert Ellis of Jewett, Ohio; Sisters Wanda Mullins Butcher of Dille, West Virginia, Gladys Neal of Titusville, Florida and Gloria (Perry) Bogner of Titusville, Florida and two grandchildren Zachary Vann and Darrell Robin Ellis.

He was predeceased by a grandson Jason Vann and brother Hussey Ellis.

Service: A funeral service will be held at 5pm on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at the First Christian Church of Vero Beach, visitation will be held at 4-6pm at the church, with Rev. Earl Morgan officiating.
