Charles A. LaFleur,93, of Ft. Pierce, Florida formerly of New Bedford, MA passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Consulate Health Care in Vero Beach surrounded by his daughters, Paddy Pelczar and Laurianne Tupek. He formerly was a resident at "The Place at Vero Beach".

Charles was born May 9, 1921 in Dartmouth,Massachusetts son of the late Louis and Eva LaFleur. He co-owned LaFleur Bros construction company, and later he was sole owner of his own General Contracting business building various residential homes. He ended his career as a Construction Superintendent building commercial buildings for many years before coming to Ft. Pierce. Some of his well known accomplishments in the Mass area was the building of "Frionor" fish processing plant on the New Bedford wharf and the MidCape Tennis & Racquet Club on Cape Cod. Charles was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Formerly he attended Sacred Heart Church in New Bedford, Mass. where he was an usher for many years. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, having served his country honorably during World War II. He was also a member of the US Air Force Band and played the trumpet. He was an avid card player especially in his years in Florida and was fortunate to have two wonderful card companions, Virginia Leblanc and Evelyn Markar.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Nellie LaFleur on May 29, 2003, and 2 great grandchildren, Alex Rego and Andrew Rego. He is survived by his three daughters, Laurianne Tupek and her fiance, Art Alston of Ft. Pierce, Charlene Boisvert of Miami Lakes, FL, and Paddy Pelczar and husband Steve of Dartmouth, MA and Malabar, Fl; four grandchildren, Kristin Rego, Karin Butler, Jacques Boisvert and Remi Boisvert, and seven great-grandchildren, Paige Boisvert, Claire Boisvert, Elle Boisvert, Taylor Boisvert, Mitchell Butler, Janey Rego and Nicholas Rego.

The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm with a Prayer Service at 6:30 pm on Wednesday March 4that Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Friday March 6th at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach with Military Honors following.
