IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christopher Kevin
Pollard Jr.
June 4, 1926 – March 17, 2021
Christopher Kevin Pollard Jr. , 94, of Fort Pierce, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on March 17, 2021 from cancer. Chris was born in White Plains, NY on June 4, 1926. The oldest son of Irish Immigrants, he was predeceased by mother Ethel, father Christopher Sr. and brother William Pollard. He was a WW2 Vet who left high school to serve his country. Stationed at Pearl Harbor, he served as a Navy Seabee Machinist Mate, being honorably discharged in 1946. After returning home, he obtained his GED and certification as a HVAC Technician. He retired from Kraft General Foods Headquarters in White Plains after 31 years of service as the nationwide Manager of GF's Fleet Services. Chris and his beloved wife of 61 years, Rose, (deceased 2015) were snow birds from Rye Brook, NY until moving permanently to Spanish Lakes Fairways in 2005. He was an avid tennis player and golfer, and a member of the SLF Tennis Club for many years. Chris was also a member of the Northeast County Men's Golf League at Fairwind's Golf course for over 25 years. Most will remember his willingness to help a friend, especially with appliances, his great sense of humor, and his devotion to a solid round of golf – which he stopped playing at age 93, or a good bank shot in billiards. He is survived by his loving daughter Karen Pollard-Batchelor and her husband, Brant Batchelor, of Fort Pierce, FL and his son Dr. Kevin C. Pollard (Cathy) of Columbus, Georgia. His legacy will also continue through his two grandchildren, Courtney and Christopher Pollard. A funeral mass celebrating his life will be held Monday, April 19, 2021 at 10:30 AM at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Fort Pierce. The family requests in lieu of sending flowers that donations be made in his name to Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981.
Please feel free to write a condolence to the family or share a memory of Christopher.
