Clarice Kay "Bitsy" Godshall, age 78 of Vero Beach, Florida passed away on March 3, 2013 in her home. Clarice was born in Bowmanstown, PA to Stuart and Katherine (Fiske) Bartholomew on September 2, 1934. She has lived in Vero Beach for 5 years, moving here from York, PA. A true American patriot who grew up in rural Pennsylvania during the great depression, "Bitsy" enjoyed doing anything with her beloved big brothers, Horace and Donaldwho have recently passed away.
Small in stature, but long in determination, Kay graduated from business school in Chicago, IL and was a proud member of the Daughters of the Union Veterans Civil War. She was also a Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America pack leader and foster mother to 7 teenage girls who needed love and shelter. Clarice Leaves to cherish her memory: her sisters, Ethel L. Powers of Schenectady, NY and "kid sister" Jasmine Joest of Beach Haven, NJ., niece Priscilla Cummiskey and nephew Donald Bartholomew, daughter Laura B. Tassone of Red Lion, PA and son David F. Godshall of Vero Beach, FL. Her grandchildren: Rebecca, John and Zac Tassone, Amanda Bucalo and Alex and Jessica Godshalland her great grandchildren: Ian Bucalo and Bryson Tassone.
