Daniel E. Folz, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on October 11, 2021 at the age of 98. Born March 20, 1923, to William and Ada Folz, he was the youngest of 6 siblings. Daniel was one of the few remaining World War II army veterans who came ashore at Normandy on D-Day. He spent much of his life in Miami and Pembroke Pines, before retiring in Vero beach, FL, where he lived for 30 years. Daniel was a long time employee of National Airlines in Miami, retiring after more than 30 years.

He enjoyed biking, played tennis well into his 80's, loved dancing, and listening to Big Band Swing music. He was sweet, kind, and charitable. Always smiling, he had a great sense of humor, and the nicest disposition. He was involved in his church and local community, volunteering for numerous organizations including Meals on Wheels and March of Dimes for many years.

He was married to the love of his life, Catherine Folz, for 68 years. Together, they loved to travel, play cards, and go to the beach. His greatest joy was his family, especially his four granddaughters.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Catherine Folz, and survived by his daughters Gail Pawlowski (Michael), Lois Koenig (Paul), son Daniel Folz (Barbara), granddaughters Alexa Mefford (Tyler Mefford), Caitlin Pawlowski (Matthew LaCour), Kristen Koenig (Nate McCoole), Megan Koenig, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 20, from 10:30 – 11:30 at Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, followed by a Mass at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church at 12:00 pm in Vero Beach.
