Daniel MOSTOWY, age 87, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020. He was born in Herkimer, NY, on March 20, 1933 to the late Stefan Mostowy and Pauline Gurniak Mostowy. His family moved to Stamford. CT soon after, where he lived until his retirement in 1988.  He was married to Barbara Cahill Mostowy in 1957 until her death in 2017. Dan was a veteran of the Navy during the Korean conflict. He is survived by his children Thomas Mostowy and his wife Elizabeth McDermott of Washington, DC; James Mostowy of Royal Palm b?each, FL and Lee Ann Mangiapani of Vero Beach,FL, grandchildren Daniel Mangiapani, Christina Mangiapani, Michale Mangiapani, Victoria Mangiapani, Michael McDermott, Conor McDermott-Mostowy and Logan McDermott-Mostowy; two great grandchildren and numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by siblings Michael, Mary, Ann, Olga, John, Lillian, Sophie, Joseph, Esther, Naomi, Stephen, Samuel, Benjamin and Richard. (When he was young, Dan and his younger brothers memorized a rhyme to remember all their older siblings in order.) No services are planned at this time.  A graveside service will be scheduled at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Habitat for Humanity, to whom he donated many hours during his retirement years.
