Daniel Fanshaw Poucher, 89 of Vero Beach died Thursday, December 13, 2018, after a long illness. Daniel was born January 22, 1929, in Long Island, New York to Edward and Thelma Poucher and grew up in Rockville Center, NY. Dan later married Dorothy O'Brien in 1956 and they moved to Rhode Island, where their two daughters were born.

After working on the first nuclear submarine at Electric Boat, in Groton, Conn., Dan was approached by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Virginia and was asked to bring his special carpentry skills to work for them. The family moved to Williamsburg where they lived for over 20 years, in one of the 18 ^th century restored homes in the Village. Dan restored fine 18 ^th Century furniture, copied pieces for use in the historic buildings and in general, did all the things he loved to do and was so good at doing. He said he never had a day that he didn't want to go to work. Dan also did some 18th-century dance with a group his wife started.

Dan is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Vero Beach, FL; his daughters, Kathleen Garcia and Elizabeth Marley of Fort Lauderdale, FL; a son in law, Mauricio Garcia of Fort Lauderdale, FL; as well as a foster son, Robert Braun, of West Virginia.

Interment and Military Honors will be held at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL on Friday, December 28, 2018, at 2:00 PM.
