Darren Adam Melton, 50, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019.

Darren was born in Melbourne, FL, and was a commercial fisherman and enjoyed anything in the outdoors.  His friends say, When you called Darren, you usually go his voice message, "I'm either fishing, hunting, or riding my four wheel..." or he was talking to one of his many friends.  When you did get through it was always, "what's up, where's the hotspot, and then let's go fishing!"  Darren, or to the people who knew him, "Fatt Rock, Duck, or Big D, was truly Larger than Life.  A lovable Legend we will certainly miss, and we know his memory will always make us smile.  Any of the people that knew Darren in the last few years know that Darren was a proud father to Remy, his faithful fishing companion.

Darren is preceded in death by his father, Eddie Lee Melton, Sr. and sister Cynthia J. Melton.  He leaves to cherish him memories, his mother, Clarissia Melton Oglesby and step-father, Wallace Oglesby, Sr; 3 brothers, Eddie L. Melton, Jr, David A. Melton and Ace Wallace Oglesby, Jr.; 5 sister's, Patricia Melton Parker, Susan Melton Loidl (Jim), Danielle Sexton, Joy Oglesby Peacock and Michele Oglesby Hall (Bill) as well as numerous extended family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.  The family recommends that donations be made to TCCH to help those in need.
