David Edward Cavasinni, 60, of Vero Beach, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013 after being diagnosed with a progressive brain disease.

Mr. Cavasinni was born March 1, 1953 in Canonsburg, PA. He had been a resident of Vero Beach for 28 years, coming from McMurray, PA.

He recently retired from teaching in the Saint Lucie County School District after 20 years. He was the teacher for the kids, and often opposed the strategies of the Administration.

The highlights of his life were: his two sons, Steelers football, jazz records, and most of all, his Peters Township High School Football Team - Class of 1971 in McMurray, PA.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Amy Cavasinni; sons, David B. & Devin Cavasinni; sister, Barbara (Cavasinni) Flynn of Potomac, MD.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank "Jiggs" & Kathryn Cavasinni.

Services: The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the First Christian Church Social Hall, 1927 27th Street, Vero Beach, FL. A memorial will be held in the Pittsburgh area at a later date.
