David Walter Locke, 90, of Vero Beach, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Indian River Medical Center.
Mr. Locke was born September 19, 1922 in Philadelphia, PA. He had been a resident of Vero Beach for 9 years, coming from Winston Salem, NC.
He was a graduate of the University of Delaware where he received his Mechanical Engineer degree in 1943.
He served in the United States army during WWII as a captain in Central Europe from 1944-1946. He was a lifetime member of the ASME.
Prior to retirement he was a mechanical engineer.
He is survived by his son James W. Locke of Tomahawk, WI and daughter Linda J. Locke of Loxahatchee, FL; two grandchildren Robert M. Locke of Minneapolis, MN and Laura A. Locke of Hollywood, CA.
He was predeceased by his wife Eloise D. Smith who died in 2001.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion: 4630 36th Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32967.
A Memorial Service will be held at The Lakes at Pointe West on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 3pm with Rev. Dr. Robert Bedingfield officiating with Military Honors to follow.
