David H. Lockwood, 85, passed away on October 8, 2018.

He was born to the late Robert and Frances Lockwood on February 13, 1933 in Fernandina Beach, FL.  Dave graduated from Georgia Military Academy in 1950 and then served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.  He worked as a pharmaceutical representative before marrying Emma Dean Calfee in 1958.  He then returned to school and completed his BS in Education from the University of South Florida.  Afterwards, he taught distributive education in public high schools for many years.  He and Dean lived in Melbourne, Temple Terrace and Juno Beach, FL.  After retiring they moved to Cary, NC to be closer to Dean's family.  In 2013, they returned to Florida, living in Indian River Estates in Vero Beach.

Dave was a committed Christian and he and Dean were very active and generous members of Oceanview United Methodist Church while in Juno Beach and White Plains United Methodist Church while in Cary.  His main hobby was genealogy, and he was forever asking family members for names and birthdays of their relatives.

Dave was preceded in death by his wife Emma Dean, son Jamie, and grandson, Dean.  He is survived by his ex-daughter-in-law Dorothy and grandson JD, both of West Palm Beach, FL, daughter Nancy, sister Jo-ann Leathers of Cumming, GA, brother Robert Lockwood of Asheville, NC and numerous relatives on the Lockwood and Calfee sides of the family.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 3 ^rd at Indian River Estates in Vero Beach.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
