David Vincent McCarthy, 58, died unexpectedly Sunday, September 27, 2009 at his residence in Melbourne. He was born April 25, 1951 in the Bronx, NY and was the son of the late Philip J. McCarthy and Catherine Cannon.
David graduated from Melbourne Central Catholic where he held State records in track and field and he excelled in football. He earned his Masters Degree in Psychology from West George College with Honors. After graduation he worked for the State as a Psychologist. He went on to work in the security field and was currently working as a manager with U.S. Security. He was a certified Herbalist, an avid gardener, and an excellent craftsman. He was also a firearms instructor and skilled gunsmith.
David was big brother to Philip McCarthy (Elaine), Marianne Hamelin, Roseanne Lansdon (Wesley), and Winifred McCarthy. He is also survived by one niece, three nephews, and one grandniece.
David was a proud Irishman. So please join us in the wearing of the green as we celebrate his life.
Visitation will be held Friday night October 2, 2009 at Davis-Seawinds Funeral Home from 5:30-7:30 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Melbourne.
