David Lewis McKee, 81, of Vero Beach, FL died Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Royal Palm Convalesce Center in Vero Beach while under VNA/Hospice care.
Mr. McKee was born January 17, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Vero Beach in 1987 from Columbus, OH.
He was a graduate of Principia College in Elsah, IL and did his post-graduate work at Rutgers College of Banking in New Jersey. Mr. McKee had been a banker and had worked for the Federal Reserve Bank and Banc One. After retiring from banking he entered into the real estate development of McKee Point in Vero Beach. Mr. McKee was also member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Vero Beach and a veteran of the Korean War, serving as a Sergeant in the US Army.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years Patricia B. McKee of Vero Beach, daughter Debbie Caldwell of Vero Beach, sons David McKee of Columbus, OH and Don McKee of Vero Beach, a sister Bessie Walsh, of Vero Beach, ten grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and three nieces.
He was predeceased by his brother John K. McKee, Jr..
Services: A private interment service for the family will take place at a later date.
