David A. Rustine, 62, of Vero Beach, FL passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2014 at home surrounded by his family.
David was born in Binghamton, NY to the late Jack and Agnes Rustine and moved his family to Florida in the mid- 80's to further expand his real estate business. In a short time he formed Crown real estate followed by additional Crown companies developing commercial and residential projects from Boca Raton to Vero Beach. One of his most significant accomplishments was restoring the AMI building in Boca Raton after the anthrax attack. He not only had vision but the fortitude, knowledge, and unstoppable optimism to see his projects through. His entrepreneurial spirit included many diverse and creative business interests outside of real estate including growing the largest cotton candy production company in the United States.
He was predeceased by his brothers Jack and Phil Rustine. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Dr. Rebecca Rustine; by his son, Benjaman (Jackie) Rustine; Daughter, Andrea (Geoffrey) Brennan; Stepson , Mark (Chris) Hennicke; grandsons, Evan Hennicke and Samuel Brennan; Brothers, Paul, Mark, and Ken Rustine.
He was an avid football fan throughout his life, and enjoyed fine dining, red wines, traveling, and riding roller coasters with his children.
Friends and business associates have been sharing sentiments of the profound impact he had on many lives. His love wisdom, and generosity will be missed.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960. The family will have a time of gathering immediately following the service at Cox Gifford.
