Dixie M. Cavanaugh, 92, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away Friday, January 29th with her family by her side.

She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Millard and Pearl McWhorter on October 31, 1928.  She graduated from Ensley Highschool in 1947 and started working for New York Life.  She married Frank Cavanaugh from Decatur, Illinois, in 1953 and moved to the state of Florida early in their marriage to raise a family.

Dixie is survived by her daughter, Lyn (Marty) Miller of Cary, Illinois; her son in law, David Trudnak of Naples, Florida; her four grandchildren, Zachary Trudnak, of Vero Beach, Florida; and Jourdon, Dominic, and Drew Miller of Cary, Illinois.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and daughter, Kimberly Trudnak.

When Dixie was not traveling the United States and Canada in her motorhome with her husband, she was entertaining friends and family at her home in Vero Beach.  She loved to travel, was an avid reader and Scrabble player, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  Dixie had a long list of friends and family who she kept in close contact with.  She was a lovely wife, mother, and grandmother with so much joy in her heart and a kind word for everyone.  She will be truly missed.
