Dolores Florio, 81, of Port Saint Lucie passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce.
Mrs. Florio was born in Bound Brook, NJ, and had been a resident of Port Saint Lucie for 7 years, coming from Tequesta.
Prior to her retirement she and her husband, Michael were investors in the Young and Prill Funeral Home Group, the Seawinds Funeral Home Group, the former owners of Cove Video and many other businesses.
She was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Michael Florio; daughter Michelle Florio of Port Saint Lucie; sisters Joyce Gottung of Port Saint Lucie and Janice Ney of Manahawkin, NJ; niece Christy Ney of Union City, NJ; nephews James Ney of Harleysville, PA; Scott DeGhetto of Scottsdale, AZ and Martin DeGehetto of Denver, CO.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Hobe Sound on Monday, December 10, 2012. A reception will follow immediately after the mass.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund at 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
