IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dominick Seyoume
Anderson
May 30, 1997 – January 20, 2026
Dominick S. Anderson, 28 of Vero Beach, passed away January 20, 2026.
A beloved son, a brother, a grandson, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin, a shipmate, and a man with dreams that reached far beyond what we could see.
Born at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Dominick's life was anchored in a legacy of military service and strength from his very first breath. Even as a child, he carried that spirit—one full of energy and determination.
He grew up surrounded by love — with his parents, Shawnie and Mike Anderson; his siblings, Neferteria Bushell-Cue, Anthony and Michael Anderson 2nd, Adrianna, and Marlie Anderson; and the only one who could really call him "Unc," his niece, Dmya Bushell-Cue. He was also blessed to have both of his grandmothers, Yvonne Lancaster and Eugene Bushell, and his grandfather, Neville Bushell, along with his aunts, Amanda McFarlane and Nikita Bushell; his uncles, Marland Anderson, Ato Lawrence, and Dean McFarlane; and way too many cousins to list, who all loved him deeply. Family meant everything to Dominick.
As a kid here in Jacksonville, Dominick lived for the game, lettering three times in football and once in basketball at University Christian. As a defensive back, he played with a champion's heart, leading his team to multiple District Championships and 2 State Championships. He was vital to UCS' legendary defensive line, holding opponents to minus-44 yards on the ground. He carried that championship heart to Tusculum University, playing defensive back and majoring in Sport Management; he didn't just want to wait for doors to open—he wanted to build them.
Sports weren't just games to him; they reflected who he was — competitive, driven, and full of heart. He learned discipline and resilience early on, and he carried those lessons with him when he eventually answered the same spirit to serve that marked his birth.
He joined Patrol Squadron (VP) 16, the War Eagles, where his work ethic was undeniable. He rose to Yeoman 2nd Class by November 2023. In a single awards ceremony, he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and received his Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist wings. These honors showed us all what we already knew: that he had the courage to stand for something bigger than himself.
But beyond the accomplishments and the uniforms, Dominick was our heart. He was laughter. He was pride. He was the kind of young man who left an imprint on everyone who knew him.
Though his time with us feels far too short, his impact will never fade. His dreams, his determination, and his spirit will live on in all of us — especially in his parents, brothers, sisters, niece, grandparents, and extended family.
Dominick's story does not end here. It continues in the memories we hold, in the lessons he taught us, and in the love that will never leave us.
Son, we are proud of you. We love you. And we will carry you with us for the rest of our lives.
Rest easy, Dom Dom!
