Donald Everett Knapp, Sr.

Donald Everett Knapp, Sr., 79 passed away on Friday, November 4, 2011 at his residence in Vero Beach, Florida.

He was born October 25, 1932 in Danbury, CT and was a resident of Vero Beach since 1986, coming from Branford, CT.

Don was a graduate of University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, CT and a member of KBR fraternity.

He was a member of the Vero Beach Country Club, VFW, American Legion all of Vero Beach, FL. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Danbury, CT.

Don served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He was a founding member of Christ Church Vero Beach.

Prior to retirement Don and his wife operated several California Closet franchises in South Florida.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Mary Lynn of Vero Beach, FL; sons Donald E. Knapp, Jr. of West Haven, CT, Paul (Linda) Sobolewski of Guilford, CT; daughter Mandy Sobolewski of Vero Beach, FL and two granddaughters Kelly and Caitlin Sobolewski.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.

A Gathering will be held from 4-6:00 PM on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach, FL. A memorial service will be at 12 noon on Monday, November 14, 2011 at Christ Church of Vero Beach with Reverend Robert Stull officiating.
