Donald James Wright, 90, died January 8, 2015. He was born December 9, 1924, in Michigan City, IN. He is survived by his wife, Myrle E. Wright, and four children, Connie Albright of Punta Gorda, FL; Donald Wright of Punta Gorda, FL; Donna Graham of Vero Beach, FL; and Kim Hawkins of Vero Beach, FL; Eight grandchildren; Sixteen Great-grandchildren.
Donald graduated from Michigan City High School in Michigan City, IN, Class of 1943. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a Sergeant in the Philippines during WWII. He received an Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with one Bronze Star; Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star; Good Conduct Ribbon; and WWII Medal. After returning home to Indiana, 4 days later he married Myrle who he called Peggy. They celebrated 68 years of marriage on February 4, 2014.
Donald worked as an electrician in Indiana until relocating to Punta Gorda, FL in 1968. He continued to work in the electrical field until he retired. Donald and Myrle relocated to Vero Beach, FL in 2004.
Donald was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church, Vero Beach, FL. A celebration of life service will be held at Cornerstone Christian Church on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 4:00 pm.
