Donna Eloise Brown

Donna Eloise Brown, a beloved member of the Vero Beach community, peacefully entered Heaven on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, with her cherished family and best friend Irene by her side. She was born on July 23, 1940, in Beech Grove, Indiana, to Edwin and Hilda Rode, who preceded her in death.

Donna's early life was marked by a strong commitment to education and community service. She graduated from Franklin Central High School and continued her studies at Porter Business College in Indianapolis, Indiana. On December 19, 1965, she married Ronald E. Brown, with whom she shared a life full of love and devotion.

Donna's passion for giving back was evident in her extensive volunteer work. She generously gave her time to the Academy of Entrepreneurship, Gifford Middle School PTA, and led many school and church functions. Her heart was also dedicated to the VNA Hidden Treasures, where she found joy in making new friends. Donna co-founded The Gingerbread House, a cherished children's clothing store, which became a beloved spot for families in the area. Her home was a haven for exchange students from around the world, reflecting her deep appreciation for cultural diversity. Donna's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she remained deeply involved in her Lutheran church, where she was both born and married.

Donna's legacy is carried on by her two children:

Elizabeth A. Patton and her children, Dustin Patton, Kyle Patton (Brittany) with great-grandchildren Bailey, Kyle Jr., and Kinsley, and Alyssa Estrella (Mia).
Stephanie Brown (David Preat) and her children, Kristin Goehring with great-grandchildren Natalie Goehring and Slade Jr. Stockhammer, and Collin Errett (Hannah) with great-grandchildren Parker, Lucas, and Maverick.
She is also survived by her stepchildren:

Rebecca Brown with great-grandchild Allison West.
James Brown.
She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Marilyn Rode and remembered fondly by her nephews, Jeff Rode and Mark Rode, and her nieces, Mary, Julie, and Bethany

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald E Brown and brother and sister-in-law, Morris & Dottie Rode.
