Doris C. Cross, 89, died Dec. 2, 2007, at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach. She was born in Leicester, Mass., and lived in Fort Pierce for 14 years, coming from Ridgefield, Conn. She was a PBX operator with INA Insurance Co. of North America. She was a member of Lakewood Park United Methodist Church in Fort Pierce. She was a volunteer at the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office and a member of the Owls and Garden Club in Ridgefield. Survivors include her sisters, Betty Ullstrom and Madelynne Cox, both of Fort Pierce; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman C. Cross; a daughter, Judy Claudy and son, Richard Cross. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lakewood Park United Methodist Church, 5405 Turnpike Feeder Rd., Fort Pierce, FL. SERVICES: Interment will be at Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
