Doris Mae Grant passed away peacefully on December 1, 2016 with her loving husband and son at her side. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 22, 1925 to William and Sarah Ward. The beauty, talent and intelligence of Doris was evident at an early age. She was always at the top of her class, could sing and act. When she was 16, she met the love-of-her-life Henry Grant. They married after WW II on June 10, 1946.

Doris and Henry and their young son moved from Philadelphia to Roslyn, PA a few years after their marriage. As a young mother she cared for her home and family and eventually went to work for a prominent law firm in Philadelphia as a bookkeeper. Later in life she became a success realtor.

It is hard to list all of Doris' talents, but one of her best was as a seamstress. She could create outfits that would rival those of professionals. And, she always dressed herself "like a million dollars". Doris was also one of those people who could make a friend with anyone and often did.

Doris is survived by her husband of 70 years, her son Henry (Deani) Grant, granddaughter Jennifer Grant, grandson Tom Grant, grandson Daniel (Michelle) Grant and great-granddaughter, Lydia. She also has several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and younger brother, Bill.

She will be missed greatly by her family and friends, but we know that heaven is a little brighter with her in it. The family would like to thank all the staff at Consulate Health Care and VNA Hospice who took such good care of mom.
