Doris V. Kenyon, 87, of Vero Beach, FL died Friday, January 11, 2008 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
Mrs. Kenyon was born June 9, 1920 in Hicksville, NY and moved to Vero Beach in 1959 from Middleport, NY.
She was a registered nurse and worked for many years for the Indian River Memorial Hospital and Indian River County Health Department. Mrs. Kenyon was a veteran of WW II, serving as a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army during which time she served in France in the European Theatre.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years Leonard G. Kenyon of Vero Beach, FL, daughters Cathy Hinkle of Fellsmere, FL, Patricia Fuller of Vero Beach, FL and Gloreen Brandreth of Phoenix, AZ, a step-son Dr. David MacIntosh of Traverse City, MI, eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by a son Willliam L. Kenyon and a sister Eileen Lambie.
The family will receive friends 4-7 PM, Tuesday, January 15, 2008 and 11 AM - 12 Noon on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 12 Noon, Wednesday, at the funeral home with Brother James Hinkle of Shiloh Youth Ranch officiating. Interment with military honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3918 will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
