Doris Sipes passed away unexpectedly at Indian River Medical Center.
Mrs. Sipes is survived by her husband Eldon Bruce Sipes Sr.
She is survived by her loving daughter Linda Sipes of Vero Beach and Gail Tripp of Vero Beach. Katherine Hunt of North Carolina. She was predeceased in death by her son Eldon Bruce Sipes Jr. She was the proud grandmother of 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Doris was born into a loving family in the Charleston, SC area. After her schooling she moved to New York City and worked briefly in fashion. During a trip back to the South Carolina she met her future husband Bruce and they were married shortly thereafter. After living in North Carolina for several years Doris and her family moved to Florida. She was a devoted homemaker, mother and devoted much time to helping others. In 1987 after encouragement of family and friends she founded Drapery Gallery Interiors- her interior decorating business. She completed many distinguished homes throughout Florida. She was also devoted in her Christian faith until her death with the hope of the resurrection. She enjoyed all things of island lifestyle, traveling and entertaining. She will be greatly missed by all that she met through her life.
Doris expressed her wishes if this day ever came that she did not want a traditional funeral as she thought that was depressing and life was to be celebrated. Family is planning a private gathering to honor that wish as her greatest wish was always for all to happy.
For anyone wanting to donate in her memory-the family requests donations be made to the Vero Beach Volunteer Ambulance Squad PO BOX 2240, Vero Beach, FL 32961.
Revelation 21:4 "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, Neither will mourning nor outcry not pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."
