Doug Distl, 64 of Sebastian, died on Friday, February 22, 2019 with family by his side. He was born to the late William and Gloria Distl on November 26, 1954 in Mansfield, Ohio. He married Shelly Horvath in 1987.

Doug was a Community Association Manager in Vero Beach and worked for Elliott Merrill Management Companies for nearly 20 years. In 2006 he began managing Carlton, where he made friends with residents and many contractors. He enjoyed volunteering to serve the children at Hibiscus Children's Center. He spent his happiest times with family and friends. Doug enjoyed his spare time golfing, boating and cruising. With his infectious smile, he never knew a stranger.

Doug is survived by his wife Shelly, a brother, Jeff (Diane) Distl of St. Louis and many nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

A Private Service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Halo or Hibiscus Children's Center.
