Douglas Doug Richard Sturdivent, age 60 of Okeechobee, died Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the Hamrick Home. Born in Covington, KY he has been a resident of Okeechobee for the past 17 years. Doug proudly served the United States Marines and is a two time Past Commander of the VFW Post 10539, as well as a member of the Eagles 4509 and Moose Lodge. He was an original committee member of the Old Spirits/Good Habits raising money for the KOA Kid Kancer Kamps.
Mr. Sturdivent is survived by his wife of 15 years Cindy of Okeechobee, son Shawn Sturdivent, and daughters Sylvia and Sabrina Sturdivent. He is also survived by his sister Mary Jo Graff (Jack) of Kentucky.
Graveside services will be held at the South Florida National Cemetery 6510 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 9:30AM. There will also be a celebration of life service held on January 15, 2010 at 2pm at the VFW Post 10539.
