Obituary

Edward (Ed) F. Campany was called home on August 1st, 2024. The son of Mary (Matuszak) and Ervin Campany, he was born on September 17th, 1930 in Glen Falls, NY.

Growing up in Upstate and Central New York instilled a love of the outdoors in Ed which lasted his lifetime. He enjoyed sharing this passion with his family and friends, and it was contagious! His fondness for the St. Lawrence River was passed down to his daughters having summered there for many years growing up and to his grandchildren who spent many hours fishing on the River learning his favorite spots.

Ed was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. As a young man, he enlisted in the Corps and served during the Korean War. He was honored with a Purple Heart medallion to recognize his bravery and sacrifice in the service. Following the military, Ed attended Lemoyne College and Syracuse University on the GI bill and then settled into a 30 year career as a plant superintendent at General Motors. He enjoyed an early retirement and spent his time between Old Forge, NY and Fort Pierce, FL during his retirement years.

Known for his strict discipline and rigid routines, Ed was also known for his warm heart and loving spirit. He had a jubilant smile and eyes that sparkled when he spoke about the people and things he loved. Among those were the many adventures he had with his grandchildren going fishing, golfing, and exploring Disney!

Ed had a long and full life. He leaves behind a loving wife of 40 years Patricia "Patti" Campany; 4 daughters, Kathy Chapin (Greg), Patricia Campany, Frances Rogers (Rob), and Tina Campany (Mario Musso); 2 stepsons, Marc (Tammy) and Michael (Christine) Sauve; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Dawn Campany, his brother Joseph (survived by Joy) Campany, and his stepson Joseph (survived by Maryanne) Sauve.

He will be forever in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Upstate New York at a time and place to be announced.
