Edward Alcide Guertin, aka Ed/Eddie/Al, 83, of Vero Beach passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 29, 2017 at his home in the care of his loving wife, Doris.  He was born January 24, 1934 in Woonsocket, RI, graduated from Holy Family Catholic School.  He served our country proudly in both the Navy to 1955 and the Air Force Reserves honorably until 1959. He worked as a machinist in Rhode Island until relocating his family to Vero Beach in 1968. He was employed with Piper Aircraft as well as a barber until he retired in 1999 from Ellis' Barber Shop.

Ed enjoyed life with his wife, Doris of 62 years. Together they enjoyed being with family and the outdoors, including camping, traveling, and watching sports, especially the Boston Red Sox.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Doris Guertin; son David Guertin; daughter Michelle Goodwyn and Bruce F. Goodwyn, Jr. of Vero Beach; Grandfather of both, Trae Goodwyn (Kylee) of Fort Pierce, Fl and Blake Goodwyn and partner Alza Espinza of Vero Beach, Fl; two great grandchildren, Bentlei and Branson as well as excitedly anticipating the arrival of his third great-grandchild, Carter; loving sisters Fay Dann of Sebastian, and Doris Schwartz of Vero Beach, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ann Marie Lewis, and son, John Guertin; his brother "Bill" Camille Guertin and sisters Beatrice Belliveau and Irene Troy.
