Edward John Motyka, 81, of Vero Beach, FL died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 due to a car accident.
Mr. Motyka was born December 20, 1929 in Webster, MA. He had been a winter resident of Vero Beach since 1995 and a full time resident since September of 2010, coming from Norwood, MA.
He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, the Polish American Social Club of Florida, president of the Polish American Citizens Club in Webster, MA,.a member of the Grove Isle Golf Club, the TSKK and the chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals in Webster, MA.
He served in the US Army.
Mr. Motyka studied pharmacy at the New England College of Pharmacy; and had owned Hartwell Pharmacy in Southbridge, MA.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years Mary Ann Motyka of Vero Beach, FL; son Paul Motyka of Arizona; daughters Jane Motyka of Georgia and Linda Motyka of Pennsylvania; step-son David Tamasanis of Massachusetts; brothers Stanley Motyka and Peter Motyka both of Massachusetts; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice and brothers Charlie, Walter, Joseph and Tom.
Service: A memorial mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church on April 27, 2011 at 10:00AM.
