Edward Frederick Poshadel, 91, of Sebastian, FL, formerly of Middletown, NY, died Sunday afternoon, November 14, 2010.
He was born on November 9, 1919, in Jersey City, NJ, the middle son of the late dairy farmer Emil G. Poshadel, and Rose Marie Masanet Poshadel of Mt. Hope, NY. He graduated from Alfred State University in New York where he pursued electrical engineering. Upon graduating, he worked for Eastman Kodak. He served in the Army Air Force, and fought in World War II in England, Italy, and Northern Africa. He married Leona Francisco in 1945. He started his career at Orange and Rockland Utilities, in Middletown, NY as an electrical engineer, and then at Northern Electric and other utilities across the country. He returned to O & R in the mid 60s and retired in 1981. In 2001, he moved to Sebastian, Florida where he enjoyed gardening, extensive traveling, and best of all, square dancing with the Barefoot Bay Spinners.
He is survived by his devoted and loving companion of 30 years, Susanne Zistler, and his son, Glenn Poshadel, of Denver. Also surviving him are his loving sisters-in-law Anne Poshadel, of Atlanta, Mary Ann Poshadel of Fairmont, WV, and 8 nieces and nephews - Charles Poshadel, Goshen, NY; Rosanne Livingston, Port Jervis, NY; Mary Koopman, Pittsburgh, PA; Dorothy Rehg, Atlanta, GA; Pat Hodge, Dallas, TX; Cathy Chis, Harmony, PA; Elizabeth Braun, Springboro, OH; Anne Parisey, Apollo Beach, FL, and 21 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona, his brothers Albert Poshadel, of Middletown, NY, and Emil Poshadel of Fairmont, WV.
Friends may call 4-7 pm, on Wednesday, Nov 17th, with service at 6 pm, Sea Winds Funeral Home, 735 S. Fleming St, in Sebastian.
Internment will be at Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery, in Bloomingburg, NY on Saturday, Nov 20th, following service at Assumma-Shankey Funeral Home in Pearl River, NY on Friday, Nov 19th.
