Edward James Richardson, 74, of Vero Beach, Florida, and formerly of Mont Vernon, NH, died Tuesday November 15 at Indian River Memorial Hospital after suffering a heart attack while playing golf with two of his best friends on a gorgeous Florida morning. He passed surrounded by loved ones.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carolyn Kinghorn, his brother Bob of Billerica MA, four children - Mike and his wife Kelli, of San Diego, CA; Jamie and his wife Tammy, of Vero Beach; Kristi and her partner Dana, of Orlando; and Tina, of Macon, Georgia. He is also survived by eleven wonderful grandchildren and a host of wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Ed Jr., and his sister Mary Ann of Billerica, MA.

Ed was born in Lowell, MA to Dana and Mary Richardson. He was raised in Billerica, MA, and is a graduate of Billerica High School where he was an all-state basketball player of some renown. Determined to make his mark on the world while supporting a family, he became a small business owner at an early age, starting and then building both Quality Press Inc. of Hudson, NH, and Yellow Barn Antiques, of Mont Vernon NH into successful enterprises. He retired to Vero Beach at 47, where he boated, golfed, travelled extensively, and generally enjoyed life to the fullest.

An exceptionally devoted husband, father, and friend, he will best be remembered for his love of life, his larger than life personality, his loyalty to family and friends, and his unselfish love (and perhaps his awkward golf swing). A private memorial service will be held in Merrimack, N.H. at a later date.
