IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elaine M
Quigley
August 2, 1927 – December 21, 2025
Elaine M. Quigley, 98, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 21, 2025. She lived a long, full, and well-lived life, marked by deep love for her family and enjoyment of life's simple pleasures.
Elaine was born on August 2, 1927, in Dighton, Massachusetts, to the late Hazel and Ralph Hill. She was married for 63 years to the love of her life, the late Joe M. Quigley, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and adventure.
She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Ralph, Robert, and David Hill.
Elaine is survived by her three children: Barbara Agee of Vero Beach, Florida; Joan Carty of Ipswich, Massachusetts; and Joseph Quigley of Taunton, Massachusetts. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Michelle Tamblyn of Vero Beach and her husband Richard, Jennifer Pesce and her husband Anthony of Middleton, Massachusetts; and a devoted great-grandmother to Rocco and Stella Pesce. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.
Elaine made Vero Beach her home in 1985, where she built lasting friendships and enjoyed a relaxed and active lifestyle. She especially loved playing bingo and continued to do so right up until her recent illness. Elaine and Joe enjoyed traveling together, and she filled her days with activities she loved, including playing cards, golfing, and bowling. Above all, Elaine treasured time spent with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren—who were the greatest joy of her life.
Elaine worked for New England Telephone Company as an operator until her marriage. Later, she was employed at the Paul A. Dever School in Taunton, where she worked on the switchboard and eventually in the library, roles she took pride in and enjoyed.
Elaine will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, but the many memories she leaves behind will continue to be lovingly shared for generations to come.
A celebration of Elaine's life will be held at a later date.
