Eleanor (Ellie) Coughlin, 90, of Peoria, Arizona passed away on August 15, 2022. She is predeceased by her loving husband Donald (Don) Coughlin, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. She is also predeceased by her parents Alexander Zaleski and Susan Motil Zaleski as well as 4 sisters and 3 brothers; Mary Motil Perillo Karkoska, Helen Coveleski, Veronica Holodnack, Albert Zaleski, Henryk Zaleski, Zenon Zaleski, and Constance Zaleski. She is survived by her sister Bernadine Zaleski Tabary of Peoria, AZ as well as 7 nieces- Denise Tabary, Annette Tabary Griffin, Sharon Hough Glashauser, Christine Zaleski Milewski, Donna Zaleski, Barbara Coveleski Dunbar, and Jeanette Holodnack Crans, and 1 nephew- Daniel Tabary.
Ellie was born and raised in Scranton, PA. She met her husband Don at Al's Rose Room. Don always said that she was peeking at him from across the bar through a rack of potato chips! And so the romance began. The happy couple were married in Newark, NJ on April 29, 1961. They made their home in Milford, CT until 1996, then moved to Vero Beach, FL for their retirement years. Ellie enjoyed taking cruises, Sunday afternoon drives, and visiting with church friends, and neighbors. Ellie was an active member of Saint Helen's Catholic Church in Vero Beach, FL for 21 years.
In 2017, two years after her husband's passing, Ellie moved to Arizona to be near her sister Bernadine and niece Denise.
Visitation will be held at Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home on Monday, August 29, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM, Monday, August 29, 2022 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach, FL. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach, FL.
