Elizabeth J. Bystry age 92 passed peacefully on June 5, 2020 , surrounded by family.

She was born on October 31, 1927 in Baltimore , Maryland, the daughter of the late Reginald and Mollie Whaley. Elizabeth graduated from Patterson Park High School and later attended the Maryland Institute College of Art for two years. She married the late Matthew D. Bystry in 1950 and they lived in Maryland and Georgia before retiring to Vero Beach, Florida.

Elizabeth was a loving mother and grandmother and is survived by her four children Mark D. Bystry of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; Brian P. Bystry of Charlotte, N.C.; Carol D. Dunaway of Greenville, S.C. ; and Amy L. Serkedakis of Melbourne Beach, Florida.  She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her loving husband in 2011.

She enjoyed art and music but her true passion was genealogy. She spent countless hours researching the family linage. Family trips consisted of visits to various places to authenticate her familial research.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday July 10, 2020 at 10:00 am at St Helens Catholic Church in Vero Beach, Florida
