Elizabeth (Betty) Dormi, a devoted mother and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Friday, September 26, 2025, in Vero Beach, Florida.

Born on September 18, 1935, in the Bronx, New York, Betty was the daughter of the late Ralph and Angelina Esposito. Betty's greatest joy and achievement was her family. In 1956, she married the love of her life, Joseph S. Dormi, in the Bronx, NY. They began their life together in New Jersey before relocating to Florida in 1989. They shared a loving marriage until Joseph's passing in November 2008.

Betty always held a special love for Manhattan, and while she found success in several careers, she often spoke most fondly of her early years working at the iconic Waldorf Astoria Hotel. She cherished that time, describing it as exciting every day, which instilled in her a classic style and an ability to handle any situation with grace.

Betty was an amazing cook, whose delicious meals were a testament to her generous nature. Holidays and social gatherings were always special because of her love of cooking and being surrounded by family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Dormi, and son-in-law, Brian Gilligan, of Vero Beach, FL. She is also survived by her brother, Ralph Esposito, and her sister-in-law, Theresa Esposito.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph S. Dormi; her son, Justin Dormi; her sister, Theresa Esposito Nigro; her brother, Michael Esposito; and her sister-in-law, Gloria Esposito.

Services will be held privately.
