On the beautiful morning of Saturday, August 22, Emily Smith Larson left this life to rejoin her family. Awaiting her in joyous reunion are her mother Bessie A. (Kirven) Smith, father Gerald A. Smith, brother Theodore E. Smith, sisters Geraldine A. Horn and Edna M. Wilkerson, and half-brothers Gerald Smith and Newton Smith. Left her to miss her deeply is her devoted daughter Marcia G. Larson, as well as husband Marcus E. Larson, half-brothers Jim A. Smith and Terry L. Smith, three nieces, two nephews, six half-nieces, and four-half nephews. Born in Mobile, AL on August 29, 1928, Emily made Vero Beach her home beginning in 1969 until her death. Through those years she met many friends working at Gulf + Western, Piper Aircraft, Luria's, and Florida Federal bank. Always a doting and devoted mother, generous to family and friends alike, and often the life of the party, Emily will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
