Enrico Peter Papale, 81 of Vero Beach, F L, passed away of natural causes on November 10, 2020 with his family by his side.
He was born on April 15, 1939 in Pittsburgh, P A and then the family moved to North Miami in the 1950's . He graduated from North Miami Senior High School in 1957 . He went on to serve 4 years in the United States Air Force and was very proud of his service . It was while he was stationed in Little Rock, AK when he began his schooling as a Hairdresser , certain that being surrounded by the ladies was an added plus . H e was proud to have been the "official hairstylist" of the Miss Universe Pageant in 1965 and had the pictures to prove it . He married Miriam Papale in October of 1972 and immediately started his family. Enrico went on to open several beauty salons in South Florida of which the most well-known was Enrico's Classic Unisex in Miramar, FL and he was a very active member of the Knights of Columbus over the years.
Enrico is survived by Miriam Papale ; a daughter, Leydiana Collins of Vero Beach and her two children, William and Skye; a son, Rafaelo (Jenn) Papale of Huntington Beach, CA and his two children, Bella and Logan and step-daughter Mikayla; a daughter Miriam (Anthony) McGhee of Vero Beach and her two children, Daija and Anthony ; three nephews, Sal , John and Ralph DeVivo and their spouses , children and grand c hildren . He is also survived by numerous cousins , their children , and grandchildren who all affectionately called him "Uncle Sonny". He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Carmela Papale, and his Sister and brother-in-law , Rosemarie and Sal DeVivo . Enrico never met a stranger and was blessed with many friendships over the years, some going all the way back to high school. Most especially, David and Sandy Alter, who with their two children Warren (Jill) and Michele, and grandchildren became more like family than just friends .
Enrico will be remembered for his larger than life personality, his sense of humor, his big heart, his strong work ethic, and love for family. He left his mark in the lives of everyone he met, "Rico knew everyone and everyone knew Rico", and he will be missed more than he could ever know.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
