Ernest L. Albanesi (Ernie), 84, of Vero Beach, FL died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on February 9, 2024.
Ernie was born to the late Ernest and Irene (Livi) Albanesi on June 8, 1939 in Queens, NY.
Upon graduating from Yonkers High School in 1957, he served in the Air National Guard, stationed in San Antonio, TX. He dedicated his career to paving and construction services at Peckham Materials Corp., in Port Chester, NY. Newtown and Ridgefield, CT were cherished as his homes for numerous years before eventually relocating to Vero Beach FL.
Ernie valued his Italian heritage and held a deep appreciation for a fine apizza. He found joy in spending quality time with his family, enjoying NASCAR events, boating adventures and the thrill of stock cars. He was also passionate about undertaking home improvement projects, always finding satisfaction in creating and enhancing his surroundings.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Carol (DiGennaro) Albanesi; his three daughters, Pamela Graul (Stuart Alexander), of Virginia Beach, VA; Jeanne Varnum (Michael Shannon), of West Hartford, CT; Christine (Joseph) Hunihan, of Vero Beach, FL; and one son, Christopher (Trish) Kennison, of Jupiter Farms, FL. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Sydney & Maxwell Graul, Grant & Brooke Varnum, Kyle & Benjamin Hunihan, Allison Franzel and his beloved French Bulldog, Luke.
Ernie was predeceased by his parents, and three sisters, Rena Albanesi; Dorothy (Albanesi) Posillico; and Roseanne (Posillico) Flynn.
A private service will be held at a later date.
