Ernest Alex Hamer, 78 of Sebastian, FL died Thursday, July 30, 2009 at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, FL.
He was born September 1, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA and was a resident of Sebastian since 1988, coming from Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Prior to retirement Mr. Hamer had worked for Sun Oil Company as a boiler Maker and the City of Plantation as a garage supervisor. He was a member of the NAUI Scuba Dive, the Warren Masonic Lodge # 310 F & A.M., MAHI Shrine, 32nd Degree Mason of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite in Allentown, PA.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years Betty A. Hamer of Sebastian, FL; daughter Jennie May Peifer of St. Petersburg, FL; son Ernest Alex Hamer, III. of Chester, PA; step-daughters Kristi Haywood of Manchester, MI, Karol Evangelides of Manchester, MI and five grandchildren.
Donations may be made in his memory to Indian River Scottish Rite Club, P.O. BOX 1327, Vero Beach, FL 32960 or VNA Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
