Obituary

Eugene W. Rogers, 89, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away October 3, 2016. He was born in Richmond Hill, New York on November 24, 1926 to Edwin Rogers and Clara Mertz Rogers and was raised in Baldwin, NY. He was a resident of Vero Beach, Florida, coming from Shoreham, New York in 2002.
Mr. Rogers was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during WWII. Eugene was a design engineer and worked for Brookhaven National Laboratory in Yaphank, New York for 40 years.
Eugene was a member of St. Marks Catholic Church in Shoreham, NY. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Academy of Model Aeronautics "AMA". He was a private pilot, an avid aircraft modeler and a boat and sports car enthusiast.
He is survived by his children, Lorraine (Brent) Schrecongost of San Antonio, TX; Ken (Ann Marie) Rogers of West Sand Lake, NY and Diane (Dennis) Lodrini of San Antonio, TX; brother, Edwin (Barbara) Rogers of George Town, TX; sister, Patricia (George) Dinger of Smithtown, TX; four grandchildren, Alan Schrecongost, Gregory Rogers, Christine Rogers, Daniel Hirsch and William Lodrini (deceased) and four great-grandchildren, Lea Schrecongost, Hadley Schrecongost, Arrianna Hirsch and Anthony Hirsch. He is predeceased by his wife, Ruth Rogers,
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am, Saturday, November 12, 2016 at St. Marks Catholic Church with an inurnment to follow at 12:30pm at Calverton National Cemetery , where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Ruth.
