Eva Louise Samuels, age 56, died Thursday, March 17, 2011, at Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Fla. Originally from Boynton Beach, Fla., Eva had been a resident of Okeechobee for 26 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Mildred Major; a brother, Ronald Major and a sister, Bernice Jerry.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Hubert Samuels, Sr.; sons, Lindsey (Tonya) Major, Hubert Samuels, Jr., Peritz Samuels, Sammy Samuels; daughters, Monica Major, Evettah Samuels all of Okeechobee; step-sons, Rev. Clive Samuels and Paul Samuels both of Tampa and four grandchildren. In addition, there are brothers, Norman Major of Boynton Beach, Phillip Major of Riviera Beach, Donald Major of Delray; sisters, Alice Major of Boynton Beach, Henrietta Major of West Palm Beach and a host of other family members and friends that will greatly miss her.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 25, 2011, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Buxton-Seawinds Chapel at Abundant Blessings Church, with the service following on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
