Floyd Walters' Obituary
Floyd Perry Walters, 88, of Vero Beach, FL died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Walters was born June 24, 1923 in Greensboro, NC. He had been a resident of Vero Beach since 2011, coming from Greensboro.
He served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946.
Prior to his retirement in 1980 he was the manager of the US Post Office on Tate Street and then Guilford College Station in Greensboro, NC.
Perry was a member of the Greensboro Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd Degree Mason.
He was a life long member of College Place United Methodist Church in Greensboro.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Lucy Vaughan Walters; son, Lawrence J. Walters of Vero Beach; daughter, Martha Dawn Walters of Greensboro, NC; granddaughters, Kristina Walters of Philadelphia, PA, Meghan Walters of Stuttgart, Germany, Heide Schnebeler of Woodbridge, VA; grandson, Erik Duppstart of Rock Hill, SC; and great-grandson, Logan McCann Walters of Philadelphia, PA.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Hammond Walters.
Services will be held at a later date in Greensboro, NC.
