Frances (Fran) Dunn, born Sept. 20, 1922, of Vero Beach passed away peacefully Sunday, March 30, 2008 at her home after bravely fighting illness, with her husband and family at her bedside. Last rites were administered on March 30th at her home.
Fran and her husband, Tim (Gerry), moved to Vera Beach from Switzerland 12 years ago. She had a wonderful and full life. During World War II she volunteered for and served in the U.S. Navy. Thereafter, she was chosen by the U.S. Government to serve in the Republic of the Philippines, Greece and Congo (then Belgian Congo) where she met her husband Gerald A. Dunn (Tim), a United Nations Official, whom she married in Washington, D.C. in 1965. Her last rites included her husband of 43 years from Vero Beach and sister, Muriel Bouten of Tequesta, FL.
Her career with high ranking dignitaries was highly commendable. She traveled extensively worldwide with her husband, a New Zealander, and frequently managed their household while he was on a mission. She had many friends throughout the globe.
There are no services planned at this time. Her memorial service will be held at a later date at the Sea Oaks Clubhouse. Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association and Hospice.
Gone from our sight but not from our hearts
