Frances A. Elliott passed away on May 26, 2018, at her home in Vero Beach, Florida. Mrs. Elliott was born in Brunswick, Maryland on January 17, 1922, to Roy Leo Long and Louise (Snoots) Long. She was raised in Niagara Falls, New York. After high school, she attended and graduated with a Diploma from the Nursing Program at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Niagara Falls in 1943. She was a Registered Nurse in New York State, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Florida. Frances worked at as a Registered Nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Niagara Falls, New York and John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland before enlisting and serving as an Ensign in the Navy at Chelsea Naval Hospital in Chelsea, Massachusetts during WWII.
She married William J. Elliott (deceased in 2014) in 1946 and returned to work after raising their 3 children. After moving to Florida in 1981, Frances continued to work until retiring in 2002. She was a parishioner at St. Helen Catholic Church beginning in 1981 and an active volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store after retiring from her nursing career.

Frances is survived by 3 children, Sally (Terry) Vanderleest, Joseph (Marilee) Elliott and Glenn Elliott, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach on August 8, 2018, at 12 pm.
