Frances Fennell Harlow, 94 died January 31, 2011 after a brief illness at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, FL. She was born in Red Apple Orchard, VA on February 13, 1916 to Elizabeth Lee Carroll Gunter and Robert Whitehead Gunter. She lived in Wabasso, FL in the 40's and 50's. In 1995 she moved from Wingina, VA to Vero Beach, FL.
Before retiring, she worked as a Certified Psychiatric Assistant at the Lynchburg Training School in Lynchburg, VA. She was a member of Fairmount Baptist Church in Shipman, VA. While in Vero Beach, she attended First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Donald Wayne Fennell of Vero Beach, FL; sister Hazel Wright of Silver Springs, MD; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dewey Samson Fennell, Sr. of Vero Beach, FL and her second husband, Willie B. Jack Harlow of Wingina, VA, her son, Darrell Fennell, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
Services: A memorial service will be held on Monday, Feb. 7th at 11 oclock at First United Methodist Church, Vero Beach, with Dr. Charles Lever officiating. A reception will follow in the Christian Life Center.
