Francis Marion (Pic) Crockett, 85, of Vero Beach, FL died at Dixie Oaks Manor in Vero Beach on May 5, 2009.
He was born on February 18, 1924 in Vallonia, Indiana. He was the youngest child of Virgil and Anna Crockett.
He served in the Air Corps of the U.S. Army during WWII as an electronics technician on the island of Tinian, which led him to a career in the home electronics industry with Arvin Industries and retirement with the Magnavox Company.
He moved to Vero Beach in 2002, coming from Morristown, TN. He was of the Lutheran faith and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Vero Beach and of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Morristown, TN. He was a founding of Grace Lutheran Church in Columbus, Indiana.
He was preceded in death on March 27, 2009 by his wife of 66 years, Norma Jane Crockett, and survived by his sons, David Crockett of Minneapolis, MN, Jim Crockett of Vero Beach, FL, and John Crockett of Richmond, TX, eleven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Service: A joint graveside service for Mr. and Mrs. Crockett will be held in Vallonia, Indiana on June 6, 2009, under the direction of Johnsons Funeral Home, 2005 South Main Street, Vallonia, Indiana 47281.
